The Orthofex Micro-Air is a modern debriding device with a built-in powerful vacuum to remove airborne hazardous dust.
The control unit houses the electronic speed control and the powerful and only modestly noisy vacuum. Variable speed of the burr is up to 20,000 rpm to allow for optium use of small and large diameter burs. Two speeds can be obtained from the 2 speed footswitch (optional) without adjustment of the set maximum speed. Direction of rotation of the burr is selectable. The vacuum starts automatically when the handpiece is started. The Torque Booster (optional) provides extra power to the bur at lower speeds.
The handpiece is designed with an integral vacuum nozzle directly at the bur without getting in the way of the bur tip. The weight balanced handpiece is of slender design for an easy fit in any user's hand. An internal disposable filterbag is located in the contril unit and is easily exchanged by the user.
