| Podi-Burrs
The ERN Co. resurrected these burrs from the past and improved them, allowing for greater control and reduced heat. The teeth are staggered in a pattern that promotes maximum efficiency and reduced heat. The idea is that at 35,000 rpm these burrs will cut through almost anything without staying in one spot too long. Because of the tooth size they practically clean themselves. If you have reoccurring patients that are on their feet all day and develop heavy, thick calluses, then these burrs are a must.

The Fantastic Family
The Fantastic Burr is armored with a myriad of sharp metal carbide teeth. The significance of this is that these burrs will debride excrescences as easily as they do hypertrophied nails. The teeth extend out to the tip of the burr and will debride a soft corn, IPK, or deeply imbedded Heloma Dura. The Fantastic Burr does not create either the heat associated with steel burrs or the dust created by a diamond burr.
Podiatrists are literally able to “brush away” the excrescence by a series of very light strokes across the surface of the lesion. This is done at drill speeds as low as 5,000 or up to 35,000 rpm. The carbide teeth are electro-welded to standard 3/32nd shafts in a random pattern allowing the burrs to be utilized in either direction. These burrs are designed to work in professional podiatry drills. The life expectancy of these burrs varies greatly. However, normal use should yield over five years of use.

The Happy Burr
While part of the “podi” family, the Happy Burr deserves to be explained apart from the others. There is not a one-for-all burr, but this is as close to nervonia as possible. This burr has all the teeth of the Podi-burrs, all the intricate detail of the Fantastic burrs, and the smoothing power of a coarse diamond. There are podiatrists that have done an entire nursing home with this one (and only) burr. The nose of this burr is sharp enough to get into most heavy nail grooves and heloma mollie or dur nucleus. The side of the burr is flat and large enough to handle most heavy nails and plantar calluses. Life expectancy of this burr will vary, however between two and three years have been the standard. This is because it gets used. If you don’t have this one then you don’t have the best there is for podiatry.

Diamond Burrs
The design of previous diamond burrs did not promote longevity. Enter the Fantastic Diamonds. These burrs are designed to last, and be used, for an average of three years. This does make our diamonds cost a bit more, however, if you don’t have to order them as often, then you can spend more time tending to other things. Our diamond burrs are electrostaticly adhered to the shaft making the bite stay longer. Other diamond burs are adhered with glue which means that as the glue heats up, the diamond particles flake off rendering them smooth stainless steel. Our burrs are suited for either nail or flesh smoothing. The Fantastic Diamonds are a perfect companion to all the Fantastic Burrs.

Other Smoothing Burrs
These burrs are completely different from any smoothing burr ever offered in the podiatry field. These burrs have blade-like cuts in the shaft. This makes these burrs perfect for smoothing nails while generating minimal dust. They are also more efficient than regular diamonds making quick work of smoothing nails. There are definitely no other burrs like these.

"The E.R.N. Company drill is simply the best in podiatry. Compact, virtually silent, it also provides maximum torque and easy control. Our practice manager at first thought it was not functioning because of it's silence." Eric B. Greenberg, DPM - Coatesville, PA - 5/2005
Fantastic Drill
You made it through med school, residency and establishing a practice - so why get a drill from Home Depot. These drills are made for the “daily grind” of the active podiatry office. The hand pieces are sealed to help keep dust out of the bearings. The motors are engineered to run all day without a break to cool down. The desktop models run up to 35,000rpm and the portable model runs up to 20,000rpm. All drills have a variable speed control and reversible direction switches. One of the best features found on all of our drills is the easy twist-lock hand piece. To change burrs it takes a simple twist and the chuck is open. Reverse the procedure and it is lock and ready.
